Melbourne solo trip

2024-09-02

Hi everyone, this is Jeremy. If you are viewing this blog, you may be interested in Melbourne or how to plan a solo trip. Therefore, this blog is going to provide you with my experiences regarding the reasons and the ways of my solo trip to Melbourne. Feel free to contact me if you have any further questions. Thanks in advance for referring to my blog that may guide you to plan your next journey.

There are several sections I want to share with you guys... 1) Transportation 2) Accommodation 3) Tourist attractions

Transportation:

I took a Virgin airline to Melbourne about 2hrs. I highly recommend this airline because I personally think it has a reasonable price and acceptable quality that you can decide the time, price, level, seat, and so on. Your time may be fixed if you go there for businesses, family, friends, or other conditions. However, you can have an affordable price with the great time, level, and seat.

When you arrive Melbourne, the most convenient way to approach to city is to take Skybus without renting a car. For more information about Skybus, I suggest you can view my previous blog to view more details about it.

I took a train, tram and stroll when going to places I planned for my solo trip. It is very convenient when taking those public transportations especially you have bought the Myki card and downloaded the Myki app. You can use your Myki card to touch on and off and app to plan your journey, check your balance, and top up.

Accommodation:

If you are going to have a short stay in Melbourne for your solo trip or maybe you go with your friends (I think 1-2 is the maximum), I highly recommend you can consider Melbourne City Backpackers for your short stay and it won't cost you an arm and a leg. It is located in a five-minute walk from Southern Cross Station (the Skybus route: Melbourne Airport to Southern Cross Station). Breakfast and WIFI are included and the environment is clean and great for a short stay. For more additional information, you can refer to their Instagram and webpage.

Tourist Attractions (my recommendation):

1) State Library of Victoria:

It is my second time visiting here. This time I spent some time staying inside to take some rests and do my stuff rather than just simply took some photos and left. There are no suggestions for just take some pictures or stay inside for a while, you can decide what ways suit you the most when it's your first time visiting the library.

2) Koko Black Chocolate:

It is also the place I came for the second time. I am fond of the flavours the store has, various options, and different kinds of chocolate-made products. Highly recommend you can buy some to eat in Melbourne or bring them back to Brisbane or other places in Australia. I think they will melt if you put in your luggage and take them back to your home countries.

3) St Kilda Beach:

My first time visiting this place. Although Melbourne is not famous for its beaches (I think the beaches in Queensland are awesome!!!!!), it is really suitable for walking along the coastline and immersing in the breeze vibes. A 30-40-minute bus from Melbourne City Backpackers, recommending for planning a trip to stay there about 2-3 hours to unwind.

The reasons I planned a solo trip to Melbourne are wanting to do that before my graduation because most of the time I have solo trips in Queensland instead of going to other states in Australia for my solo trip and going to IVE's concert in Melbourne! My dreams come true when I saw them 😍 Last but not least, I highlyyyyyyyyy recommend if you have any availabilities, your should plan your own solo trip no matter where you go. For me, it is a relaxation and sense of achievement!
